A Night of Unexpected Adventures: A Fallen Oak Tree, Rainy Summers, and Road Clearing

Bit of an adventure last night… While out walking our furry companions for their evening business around 10ish, we came dangerously close to colliding with one of our ancient oak trees that had unexpectedly collapsed across the road. That’ll teach me to take a torch! It seems the incessant rain this "Summer" had softened the soil so much that the tree simply gave in to its own weight.

Thankfully, the nearby Ash tree, which we had previously pruned due to dieback, managed to bear the brunt of the fallen oak's bulk. An emergency call to SNS Trees was made, and to our amazement, they efficiently cleared the road first thing this morning, just a few hours after the call, making Kinder road navigable once more!

Amazingly, talking to our guests in Barn Cottage, they said they thought they heard fireworks during the evening… that was the sound of the branches breaking!

If you find yourself in need of any tree-related work, we can't recommend SNS Trees enough! Despite the mishap, we're grateful for their prompt response.

Fortunately, our weekly bin collection was the only casualty of the event. 😞
