Moving Sheep: Louis the Lamb's Big Attitude

As an integral part of our smallholding's natural rhythm, the regular rotation of our beloved sheep is a practice that helps to rest the paddocks, let the grass re-grow and ensure everyone has new fresh shoots to eat and views to enjoy.

Yesterday marked a significant shift as we relocated our flock to the top field. Amidst the ensemble, however, stood a pint-sized personality named Louis, a delightful blend of Valais Blacknose and Ouessant breeds. Despite his fluffy appearance, Louis carries an undeniable air of authority. And he wasn’t going to just walk with the other sheep. No. Louis demanded a special rideInstead we had to chauffeur him in the back of the Land Rover. And we found out he is a terrible back seat driver. He shouts, directs and when you turn round to ask him nicely to quieten down he bites your nose.

So yes, he’s our favourite.

But don’t tell the others.
